Parenting in the womb

You may have received a poor diagnosis for your baby. It will take time to grasp this news, and you need to be kind to yourself and look after you and your baby. Use your baby's name whenever you can, keep a diary, write what you did and include your baby as much as you can.

Now is the time to spend every moment possible with your baby and to make precious memories and know that you are both so loved...

Spend every moment possible with your baby and make precious memories. Take time together and treasure every moment.

Writing down your thoughts and emotions and keeping a diary can help now and for looking back.

If possible, take time off work, go for a trip, a holiday, do something you have always wanted to do. Build a positive memory bank which will help you through the darker days.

Taking time to relaz and to be truly in the moment with your baby.

Lots of our mams have shared that they used music to help create special moments with their baby, and listening to a particular song always has special precious memories of loving your baby while he or she was safe inside.

It helps to hold and massage our growning bump; to make a physical connection with your baby and to know that he or she is safe and warm in your tummy

If you are in a support group with other families who have gone through the same experience or are going through it, its helpful to meet up, share and talk to and with each other. Making new friendships can help you through a difficult time, especially if they are travelling on the same road. Remembering your child through art, painting and crafts can build positive memories.

Use your baby's name whenever you can, keep a diary, write what you did and include your baby as much as you can.
